the yangtze river close to wuxue. it flows for 6,418 kilometres from the glaciers on the tibetan plateau in qinghai eastward across southwest, central and eastern china before emptying into the east china sea at shanghai.
wuxue's total population is about 580,000 and the city extends over 1,200 square kilometres, almost all of which is cultivated.
