The X-D-E-P-O-T. measuring approximately 600 m², the space earmarked for this purpose already existed on the second basement level in the west wing of the pinakothek der moderne, with direct access to its exhibition rooms. X-D-E-P-O-T was transformed and designed by kuehn malvezzi architects.
